Day 179 Mile 179: Vaynol Woods

20170628_134430-01Day 179 Mile 179: Vaynol Woods. Vaynol is a large estate near the sea dating from e 16th century when the bishops of Bangor sold property belonging to their manor, ‘Maenol Bangor’. Overtime it has boasted a zoo, royal visits and several music festivals and fortunately for my purposes the Wales Coastal Path runs through the grounds.

The path goes though rolling glacier kneaded fields with views down to the sea and the stately home in the distance through the hedges, before entering dense and established woodland. All in all a pleasant little excursion to a corner of the world I was not aware of apart from in the abstract as the far corner of somewhere I had never got to during gigs!

I’m running a mile each day everyday for 2017. If you feel you can sponsor me please do, as all the money raised will go to the Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) who provide services all across the UK to support people affected by it.

Distance: 1955.4 meters recorded

(1 mile = 1609.34 m.)
