Today marks the start of Pirate Weekend in Conwy; a wonderful weekend of meeting friends, fun and low-level civil unrest. It is also the start of the Bank Holiday Weekend which means that yesterday’s +25°C clear skies have been replaced with rain, and heavy thunder forecast for later!
Having braved the tourist traffic I made my way around to the nature reserve to take part in the Parkrun. I have to admit to switching my pirate shirt for a running vest as it is still absurdly hot and humid.
The run started under drizzling skies, winding along the estuary where the sea had receded to leave sand and boats beached. Turning by the castle and rounding by the Deganwy houses the weather abruptly changed. The sun burst through into a blue firmament casting rivulets of discrete shadows across the path and heating everything up yet more.
A wonderful and atmospheric jaunt now off for a scrub and splice the main brace yarhhhhh!
I’m running a mile each day everyday for 2017. If you feel you can sponsor me please do, as all the money raised will go to the Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) who provide services all across the UK to support people affected by it.
Distance: 5008.3 meters recorded
(1 mile = 1609.34 m.)
Thanks as ever for all the support!
