Day 88 mile 88: Damp Day UK 10K. It seems that spring was a bit of a passing phase. If we all thought that it had ‘sprung’ the other day, it has now well and truly recoiled into a wet, dull sort of a day. With this in mind I decided that if I was going to go out and get soggy anyway I may as well do it properly so took myself of a long figure of 8 though the countryside, up the mountain, back down along the sea-side and return to the start.
It’s oddly nice running a longer distance again, in that it affords more time to settle in, work through the miles and watch the world go by. The transitions from houses, to tree lined roads populated with birdsong, out towards the wind of the mountain side and back down to the crashing waves are subtle but profound.
Having said that though, running 6 miles instead of the usual 1, does feel a bit like hard work!
Thanks for all the support as ever 🙂
I’m running a mile each day everyday for 2017. If you feel you can sponsor me please do, as all the money raised will go to the Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) who provide services all across the UK to support people affected by it.
