Day 25 Mile 25: Treading the boards. This afternoon finds me in the historic market town of Llangefni, almost exactly in the middle of the Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Môn). Winding up the Afon (river) Cefni from which the town gets its name, is an amazing nature reserve complete with several miles of board walk. Its a tucked away gem, complete with a huge variety of bird life, established woodland and secluded ponds where the water tumbles off exposed rock on its protracted journey to the sea.

In terms of animal life I am reliably informed that if you stop for long enough you may well be treated to a glimpse of a kingfisher or red squirrel but sadly I didn’t have the opportunity to linger. There has obviously been a lot of effort put into making a sympathetic accessible way to get into the natural world and it works beautifully. Before yesterday I had no idea this place even existed, and its well worth a visit…. Don’t all go at once though!

Distance: 2030.6 meters recorded
